hi, i'm jason from Todmorden in Lancashire, i'm 32 and just aquired (well had it about a month) a 1948 Alvis TA14 saloon, its had one owner from new and was used up until 1975 when it was driven into a garage and left.
so she needs a lot of work, although the bonus's are that the wheels go round and the engine turns. so not quite as bad as i thought when i first saw her.
if it works, heres a pic of her arriving at our house....

G'day Jason,
I've always had a very soft spot for the Alvis. That one'll be a fantastic car when you've finished it and well worth the effort.
Don't like the look of the weather in the photo though.....!!!

Hi Jason, that looks like a really good project to work on over the next few years! Keep coming back with an update, I'd love to hear how you're getting on. Rich... |

the weather was awful when we moved her, i got her for free!!!! the original owner had passed away and his son wanted the garage for something else so he said 'if you want it take it' so we didn't mess about we just got on and shifted it and with a gift like this, rain wasn't going to stop me
I've got all the original paperwork for it too, old mot's and tax discs and some service history.

Quite a coincidence, went to a little woodland industrial site made up of old farm buildings near Canterbury on Tuesday. I was surprised, and a little distressed, to see a TA14 standing outside in the rain covered with leaves. From what I could see the paint and chrome were in good condition... but for how long? _________________ Due to the onset of my mid eighties I'm no longer sprightly and rarely seen in my Austin special. Don't apologise for the big picture size. Let's have more big ones please. A great find.
