Gary sent this question over, does anyone know about the 60s Ford Mustangs, and their stripes?
---------------------
Hi, I'm looking to buy a (real) 60's Mustang, & my research has prompted
a childhood memory of a toy car I had. Through your site I've found it, &
confirmed my memory was correct. The link to the Corgi catalogue is the
only thing I can find.

I had the white Mustang (plus the other two!). The query is that the
model's red stripes are offset to one side, but the Shelby Mustangs have
the stripes either side of the car centre-line, & I cannot find any
pictures on the web of historic racers with offset-stripes. I started a
thread on the Classic Mustang forum but none of them could think of an
American car with 'offset' stripes. It's going to come as a surprise I
was right (as it did to me!) but I'd be interested to know how the model
paint scheme came about?
There are other models on page 25 that do have the stripes down the centre......?
Could it possibly have been a rights issue,- ie Shelby/Ford not allowing a copy?
If you can't answer this I'd appreciate it if you can point me in the right direction.
