hi everyone,

been talking to the wife (for a change Laughing Laughing Laughing ), and when the Alvis is finished, we're having the garden turned into a drive.
We agreed that a 1940's petrol pump would look the business as an ornament at the side of the drive.

I know they sell for a lot of money, so I'm looking for a picture or photo of one so I could make a replica, it obviously wouldn't need to work so wouldn't need the internals.

I'm thinking about a steel box made to shape (going off a picture or photo)with a new hose and nozzle etc etc. all nicely painted up to look like a petrol pump.

I've tried google images but I thought it would be quicker if anyone on here had a photo.

Hi

I have a friend who restores old petrol pumps, I am sure he could help you out, PM your email address, and I will forward it on. I would think if you did want to go original, he could sort you out reasonably.

Cheers

Dave

Have you looked on Google and Google images? There are people on there who sell these so there are many pictures to chose from.

hi rich5ltr,

I have tried google images but the pics seem a bit small (the ones I've looked at anyway)

I just thought someone on here might have a pic to save me time looking Embarassed

Hi
I know you said 40's, but there is a cracking pump at PeterTavy village on here-- http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/old_garages.htm

Incidently Rick I saw an interesting old garage last yr on the B5444 Wrexham Street/Wrexham Road, in Mold.
It might be worth a photo if anyone is in the area, it is on the RH side when leaving the town centre.
