hi all,
i have now sorted the fuel problem on my mark 2 consul, the feed pipes weree dirty, now i have a leaking water pump, i have put a new by-pass hose on her and i can't see any cracks, cleaned both surfaces before assembling, she is still leaking, any ideas?

i had the same problem with my mini, the seal in the pump had perished! a wuick check (as told by a mechanic) is to take the drive belt off (and ideally the hoses connected to the pump, and spin the pump pulley. if it spins really freely, then most likely your seal is away. if there is a bit of resistance to it, then it should be ok. this of course might only apply to mini water pumps, but hey
i have been told about a seal replenisher that is put in to the water (similar to rad-weld), but i dont know much about it
