For those more interested in the mechanical side of my Corvair restoration, here are a few shots from my site on the restoration of my Corvair.
Here is the motor when I started
Here it is out of the car

Ready for installation
Installed
Lots more details and descriptions of my trials and tribulations on my site.
Those that are familiar with the 60 Corvair will note that I replaced the original generator with an alternator, and the mechanical fuel pump with an electric. Under the distributor cap is an electronic module. _________________ Richard's Cars - NEW **

Thats fantastic, what a transformation. How many hours work was involved in that? _________________ ROVER

Real hard to say how much time I spent on any part. I have a few of the details on my site, but basically my business is located in two cities, 450 miles apart. I have homes in each city, so since I bought the car, I've spent something like 290 days in Tarija, where I'm doing the car. I then divide that between work, play, and the car. Sometimes I'd spend an entire day on the car, sometimes half day. Most of the polishing I did on Sunday afternoons.
a few things, like deflashing the "new" cylinder barrels (rebored originals from a car in the US) and a little of the polishing I did in Santa Cruz.
This is how it came
This how it looked after deflashing and painting

Thanks for posting the link. I couldn't figure that out. That was the first day running. Still has to get run-in. I shot the exhaust so people could hear the home made muffler.
I got back to Tarija today and will be finishing up the interior in the next couple of weeks. _________________ Richard's Cars - NEW **
