Hi,

I have just joined and thought I had better introduce myself.

I am Dave Poole from the west midlands in the UK. I love all classic cars, but my main passion is for the Reliant sports cars (Sabre and Scimitar series)I own a 1969 Reliant Scimitar GTE SE5. I have owned it for 11 years and still very much enjoy driving it. Sadly they are very underated nowadays Crying or Very sad

Mine is certainly not mint, but it is a well looked after example and it gets well used Very Happy

Here's a few pictures:

I am interested to hear from anyone who used to work at the Reliant Motor Company or owns/owned a Reliant Sabre or Reliant Scimitar Very Happy

Kind Regards

Dave Poole Cool

Hi Dave and welcome to this forum.

I bought my first GTE SE5 in 1978. I had a company car and fortunately my wife enjoyed having a sporty different car for the school run. It replaced a Fiat 124 Sport Coupe.

It was a rough looking brown one, reg no BGK15H. I had owned it for exactly a year when, one saturday morning, I went to the Scimitar specialist in Southend to buy a fan belt for it.

In their showroom was an immaculate aubergine one that I did a part exchange deal on the spot without telling 'er indoors. Fortunately she approved and we kept it for a couple of years. (Reg no XOD345K).

I have some old photos that I'll scan and post here.

Hi Dave, welcome along, there's a couple of Sabres in a workshop not far from me (I think I've seen photos of them on your site a while back)
