From a fellow Jaguar owner, welcome to the forum.

Your car's lovely.

A (very nice) replica?

Peter

Welcome to the forum, Lowdrag.

I have enjoyed your posts on Pistonheads and I am going to blow your modest intro to this forum.

Enthusiasts for Jaguars and the engineering and dedication involved in "clone" construction should read about Lowdrag's currect project:

Thank you for your kind comments. Those carburettors sold for £7,800 and were extremely rare being DCO4's from the late 1950s. They were never fitted to a C type but some later long nose D types had them. Ironically, I found the sand cast 2" H8 SU carbs for my car on Ebay too!

And Peter, yes it's a replica - of course! It's a Lynx but modified to 325 bhp and 412 lb/ft torque at 3770 rpm. In other words, it'll pull stumps!

For those who follow Ebay, the carbs are back on even though the vendor doesn't have them. This is a scam. The carbs were no more DCO4's than I am the man in the moon. The vendor doesn't even have them because the purchaser does until he gets his money back. These carbs are of such poor quality that they could never run properly.
