I thoroughly recommend the fuel tank lining fluid I know lots or people that have used it and as long as its done correctly its never been a problem. One guy rushed the process as he is a bit like that anyway, "half job Harry" we call him Rolling Eyes He ended up blocking up the vent pipe and thickly layering one end as he thought my idea was dumb Laughing
You can buy it from "Frosts"

I like that mixer idea. I'll have to find a project to use that.
My tank was a little too far gone, so I had to fabricate half of it, then seal it. For sealer I found an epoxy used for wineries and industrial purposes. no one here has anything for gas tanks.

Interior after sealing

Aren't there any baffles in that tank to stop the fuel sloshing about when you're going around corners?

There weren't any in the original tank, so I didn't add any. It sits just behind the front crossmember, so maybe that reduces sloshing. I really don't know, but haven't heard of problems with it on the Corvair forums.
