This years Post VIntage Humber Car Club's International Rally was held at Breamore House, in the New Forest. We had a good turn out this with 74+ cars. Here's my photo's from the weekend.
212mile trip from Ipswich in just over 5 hours, as we decided to avoid the M25
Got to cook my son's brekkie now. Back soon _________________ 1953 Humber Hawk

Baked beans on toast cooked and served up for my 9 year old, so I can continue.
We had nice selection of early Humbers, including Harvey Cookes Super Snipe, recently restored.
Little one posing in this photo is our 6 year old daughter.
The owner of this one told us that it was an orginal convertable made by Humber, but you could see the weld lines where the rear doors had been welded up. Still a lovley Hawk.
Roy Anderson's well travelled Super Snipe
Humbersaurus made an appearance. Whether you like hot rods or not everyone had to agree that the engineering on this is supreb.
I love this car, it's got the style of a 1940's-1950's car with the big rumbling v8 and looks pretty damn kool. _________________ 1953 Humber Hawk

Right, now for the series cars.
A rare trip out for our club Chairman's series 2 1960 Super Snipe estate.
It was nice to see so many series 1 and 2 Super Snipes in one place!
We made the mistake of letting the kids have the camera, so we got loads of "arty"shots with people heads cut off and the cars cut in half! Hence why there ain't that many photo's, but they had fun. _________________ 1953 Humber Hawk

Looked to be a great turn out for the club, nice when it all comes together like that. Fond memories as a kid of travelling in a big Humber like GUE 142, thanks for posting. |
