I've posted some pictures of my new luggage straps on the thread about my Aston but seeing them makes me realise that the rubber mats on the boot floor and seat backs are a bit dull. Obviously I can clean them but I wondered what people use to put a nice finish back on rubber? I know there is spray-on "interior dressing" but I don't want a shiny appearance just a nice semi-matt look. Anyone got any magic recomendations for products they use? Confused

Cheers Rich...

One I get on well with is the Auto Glym tyre dressing, it comes in a spray bottle and you can either spray on and leave to dry for a not to high gloss finish or buff on with a cloth for a satin finish, theres no colouring in it so it just brings out the natural tyre or rubber black and dosnt coat it with a finish that will crack and flake off. I use it on my tyres and all my rubber trim including the running boards on my P3 Rover. Regards Steve

Ah thanks Steve, funnily enough my son-in-law also suggested AutoGlym tyre dressing so I will give it a go, if it works on running boards then it should be ideal on those rubber mats. Smile

Hi

Washing up liquid, like you have in yout washing up water before the days of dishwashers. I use it on all trim, and a nice big sponge, don't get it too wet theough!

Cheers

Dave

My vote is tyre wax, I use it on all the rubber trim and I gives a satin sheen on my Midget's rubber bumbers. It looks qutie nice on the tyres aswell. Very Happy

Watch out Phil tried that one on an old TR6 boot mat and every thing I put in there came out black for months after. Steve

Sorry Phil differant name but I'm the one who had the P3 water pump and carb mproblem on there I also have a Standard Ten hence the name here on this site the name on the other site goes back to a time when I did WW2 re-enactment and now I seem to be stuck with it on Yahoo. Here is the Ten

Started out as a birthday prez for the wife but she never realy took to it she dosnt drive much now on account of her bad arthitis but she found it a struggle to get in and out, might swap it for a Herald or something like that with two door or more room as it is a bit on the small size inside, just missed a nice 1960s minx that someone round my way was selling for £750 - good nick with a full MOT ah well next time
