I'll try and get an interior shot to contrast with the old. Many weekends scraping off flaky paint and varnish, re wallpapering, painting and danish oil on the wood. Also replacing the rotten toilet wall, which we had to partially remove the kitchen unit to acheive. Still a bit of rot to deal with on the back wall in the kitchen cupboards, bit I think its watertight now. Had all the capping strips off and resealed it. Be nice to get it inside somewhere over the winter though...
It lives at my mother in laws at the mo, well up a hill so should have escaped the floods. Not sure how I'd get across there at the moment - still a few roads closed round here.
And yes, were still working on the period camping kit, the plastic water thing dosnt really suit does it... (The milk container didnt come with the van btw)

Might have found a suitable tow car now! One that looks a bit less 'new age traveller' than the Land Rover. It's a Wolseley six, so should have enough oomph to pull the Carcruiser, but its a little modern really, being ten years newer. Shouldnt look too out of place, being a 60s design and its right sort of price. Needs a head gasket and some work on the back arches, but otherwise seem ok. Already has a towbar, and a Paddy Hopkirk roof rack!

The Wildgoose Mini-based camper was not a mere bolt-on, a new wider rear floorpan was grafted into the Minivan bodyshell and a new modified rear subframe was designed to accomodate the widened rear end. A new coachbuilt body was built around this to make the reborn Wildgoose camper. There were two types of Wildgoose, one with a solid roof similar to the caravan and a second type with a folding half-canvas roof.
As an ex. mini owner I would love to find one of these to restore. |
This turned up at an evening event I ran last night. This is the Mini based version whereas the earlier pic shows the trailer version.

Hi
That is quite tasty! I wouldn't mind one of those!
I think in the future a camper of sort will have to be purchased, to do a round country trip, or maybe Europe, of course it will have to be something old!
Cheers

I've seen that Austin Princess camper (/Sheerline?) lately as I have been pounding the M6 in Lancashire, one certainly notices it coming from the opposite carriageway! |

Hi
I don't know if it is still based there, but I am sure that it is the one that used to be seen frequently in the showroom at the Motorhome dealers on the L/H side of the A583, west of Preston, near Clifton. |

You need to move the img close tag to after the .jpg and then it can be seen.
It is a Royale Tourmaster. |

Did you buy it in the end Iain?
