Hi all
what a great caravan on e-bay at the moment. A 1950's Berkley 21' in mint condition.

A Land Rover should do it ok. I have towed that size with Land Rovers. As long as the caravan brakes are ok its fine.

does anyone know where the law stands on towing these on the road/motorway, etc? I know that caravans of this size were inteneded as tourers back in the 50's but have any laws changed since then?

I want it too and the Range Rover would tow it but its hard enough to get a 15 footer out of my driveway on this narrow road lol. Steve

I wouldn't have thought so. There are some truly massive (usually twin axle) luxury caravans around today, that don't look any smaller than that. Smile

Had a word with a friend at the highways agency and he contacted the traffic police, if the van was intended as a touring caravan and complies with the law in having working brakes and legal tyres and lights then they said it will be fine, as long as the tow vehicle is capable and not deemed to cause a hazard to other road users due to being overweight, hope this helps.
