I am not sure on electrical wiring for the older cars..I am considering changing my 1953 MG magnette from positive earth to negative earth..Can anyone tell me if reversing the terminals on the battery and what other connections do I need to reverse. Will the electric fuel pump etc still work correctly and do I need to change anything else?..Is there any written info available anywhere?...anyones advise would be most appreciated...thenks...Ken

There is quite a lot on the web concerning this:

check this site (specific to MGA but the idea is the same):

Bear in mind that your clock if electric will not work....and your fuel pump may not be polarity sensitive..

If the fuel pump is original (IE doesn't have a stepped cap with the capacitor inside) it will be OK. Likewise the clock. Smiths clocks aren't polarity sensitive. You will have to reverse the coil connections and re-polarize the dynamo (known as flashing). Any transistorised add-ons will be affected.
