OK..... now we've got the photos sorted out can somebody tell me all about the ducky little caravan..... who made it..when and how original it is.
I love the windows.... and the colour scheme on the outside .
It appears to be double skinned... kind of unusual for a 'van that size isn't it ?

Thanks for comments. It is double skinned using what I think is called Masonite, so I'm told. A type of hardboard material apparently. I am also advised by members of the Historic Caravan Club that the caravan is of 1934 /5 period. Unfortunately the manufacturer is unknown so I am hoping that somebody may come along with some info' regarding that. When I purchased the van a few months back it was in a sorry state cosmetically but the structure is perfect. So I have enjoyed myself with pots of paint both inside and out, I painted on the arch to the sides as I thought just a top half one colour and lower half another was a little less jolly! Maybe not everybodies cup of tea but I like it.
Looking at some HCC vid's on Utube I see that caravans are named, so I have named my one 'Appy Daze. |

That is interesting O V M, AYE ?
And it looks like you have a very unique little 'van Bayliss Thomas that hasn't changed much since 1995.......... lucky you I say .

Thank you so much Old Van Man for posting the item up. I have'nt read it yet, but I am about to. Thanks again.
Well not much to read, but its certainly the van that I have just aquired. I was hoping the HCC could identify it for me! The van has a club sticker on the window 'Period-Classic Caravan Club' so maybe somebody on there can throw some light on it. |
