Jeff
Is that the name of the manufacturer? Any idea which country it comes from?
All my records are by country then manufacturer and while the name rings a faint bell I can't locate it _________________ Brian

I seem to recall they come from Norway and were used by the Norwegian military but I can't recall the name of the manufacturer _________________ Due to the onset of my mid eighties I'm no longer sprightly and rarely seen in my Austin special. They were made in norway from 1957 till 1973.
they were called lillebror , named after the place they were made in I think.
Iam a newmember of the chateaumobile owners club but any info still always good. |

Hi here is a picture of my fathers Lillebror 1961. It has got plywood walls with fixed glass windows. The roof is ordinary telt canvas and it has got 12" wheels. The Lillebror is not named after where it is made as Lillebror simply means "little brother" It is made by Widerøes flygefabrikk, actually what is today Widerøes airlines( part of SAS). The later years of the Lillebror camper had respatex walls in stead of plywood( which rots).
My fathers one also has got an extra tent to be put in the rear end where the entrance door is. So when fully up it has got two rooms. Four beds inside, two on each side. One bed over the other. We use this for short trips every summer and from parking til it is set up it takes no more than 8-10 minutes( except the extra tent).
I heard that when they quit production of the Lillebror in Norway they sold it on to the Netherlands where they continued production under another name Mid 70th`s I think

Can't rember the exact size of my wheels but they seemed onobtainable.
I finished up moving the centre of one and re-welding it. _________________ Due to the onset of my mid eighties I'm no longer sprightly and rarely seen in my Austin special. I have written a book though. https://amzn.eu/d/7rwRRqL |

It is a great little combi camp Light weighted and easy to haul behind a classic car! There is actually a "Lillebror owners club" in Norway
Here is a link to theire homepage:
http://norsk-lillebror-forening.piczo.com/?g=4347251&cr=7
Scroll down and see other Widerøes products as the thermo garage, the "Bamse" trailer and the Widerøe caravan from 1958. Only one made I think |

I hauled one from Herne Bay to the Cotswolds and to Dorset using a 1932 Austin 10. I didn't break any speed limits but it was great fun. I friend of mine tells me he once towed one with an Austin 7.
