Anyone else collect toy versions of cars they actually own??

this old Dinky came off ebay with poor paint, and damage to the screen pillar. A friend of mine who is handy at re-painting battered toys, offered to do it up in the colours of my road car, even down to a nice satin finish on the base plate Cool

Neat huh!

Rick

Looks good Rick! Smile

I built my own.
I rebuilt this low rider die-cast into a close copy of my '57 Chevy.

I have always resisted the urge to collect models, but my son has started to buy me some as presents and I now have two Amazon models

For last Christmas he got me this Revell 1/18th model of the Frogeye Sprite that I owned when I was at University

How Revell manage to produce such quality models for around £20-25 retail is beyond my comprehension. The panel fit of the doors, bonnets and boots is better than on the full size version!

Nice Amazon there Brian!

the only 2 I got when I owned 120s were these, a tatty original Dinky 122S, and the weird plastic one made by Galanite of Sweden

Being into rover sd1's I have quite a few but my other half has a firenza from when she had one a couple of dinky ha vivas and we are now looking at biting the bullet and buying a model of the sceptre ( £53 from lansdowne) . E-bay is also a good source of old battered matchbox and dinky models as in all those cars you like but cant own as not enough time money and space well small scale you can .

talking of ebay, I saw someone selling these a year or two back. Done by a professional modeller and based on the common Heinz 57 Dinky van. The attention to detail close up is really good, even down to fitting tiny jewelled headlamps on the green one

Cool

Hi

That reminds me That I am going to have a go at making a pickup E83W, but I may have a go at a wooden backed one first! Then if I am feeling crafty have a go at a metal one!

Cheers

Dave
