late 50s Wllerby Vouge, "if Buck rogers "owned a caravan this has got to be it
the green and yellow van is a late 50s freeman leveret, these pics taken on its maiden run, having just had a major restoration , the interior is slightly none standard, the original finish being limed oak, a lovely comfy van that we had alot of pleasure with
now part of the Barry / richard collection |

Thanks for posting the pictures of the Freeman, Paul. It's definitely Richard's favourite van, particularly at the beginning and the end of the year when the gas fire is put to good use. It's a great van to have a couple of weeks away in - we towed it around the north of Scotland the year before last with no difficulty.
The outside colours have changed slightly as can be seen in the photo below, taken at the HCC National at Fort Paull near Hull in 2007 just before the floods!

G'day O V M,
I hope you don't mind me posting a photo of a Vogue recently found down here in Oz.
As you can see it has had a few "improvements" carried out to make it more suitable for Australian conditions

Hi
I can just picture that being towed.
Downpressure on the spoiler would surely start to lift the front of the van either countering a heavy hitch weight, or possibly lifting the back of the towing vehicle at speed thus causing a lack of traction.
It's a built in speed limiter for the towing vehicle. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

G'day Penman,
Thanks for that very practical suggestion..... we've been trying to work out why somebody went to the trouble of making it look as though it had a baseball cap on

Your freeman is just such a beautiful caravan. I am surprised there aren,t more around. They were really among the very best caravans until Freeman started making boats and gave up caravans.
I am green with envy |
