Hello all,
I have acquired a Calormeter and would like to restore. I have a few questions, hopefully someone will have done this before and may help me.

The lettering on the glass...is it silkscreened or otherwise printed ON the glass, or is it etched INTO the glass ???? I do not want to rub the latters off when cleaning the glass...AND, are new glasses available??

What type of mechanism is in the stem? (the part that goes into the radiator)...Is it a bourdon tube, or a bi-metallic spring????
Can the stem be removed for cleaning, or is this a really bad idea?

Thanks so much for your help in advance...Ryan in La
