The thing that hit me was how instantly vehicles can be recognised from the variety of styles and shapes and colours. Those same scenes (those that still exist anyway) would be full of near identical shaped vehicles, most probably painted silver if taken today.
Scenes from today viewed fifty years on would not have the same charm for the viewer I am sure. _________________ Quote from my late Dad:- You only need a woman and a car and you have all the problems you

Very interesting to see the mid 60s again.
Yes, the P1800 and the CV8 do appear remarkably often. I wonder if the photographer had some connection with them?

He also has two similar sets from the 50's & 70's.
Some of the comments on the 60's set are worth reading - somebody else picked up on the 'Saint' connection. The sources of some of the images are also referenced.
Anyone up for a quiz on the 60's set? ! !
What's the rarest car? - Panhard? Mini-Marcos?
How many Rolls-Royces?
Did you spot your favourite pub?
Did you spot the pantechnicon? (Now there's a word one doesn't use every day).

Not so many motor vehicles in the 50s collection and very definitely late 50s.

Can't help but agree with Jim Walker, I am unable to differentiate between very few modern cars now. |

What a nice idea. But would it turn me back to the way I was in the late sixties? Or better still, the late fifties?

Great photo's and just look how many foreign makes cars there are compared to today. This was when British cars were dominant. Some very interesting models not in full view. One Riley Pathfinder, a couple of Daimler Majestic/104's possibly and some I can't remember or identify. Great watching though.
