In one of my pictures in yesterdays "Berti`s MoT", there was an old speedway car on the MoT station`s wall which has created some interest..

This speedway car was hand built during the second World War,being that there was no press machinery all panels were fashioned by hand. This particular one was found under rubble and bricks in Kings Lynn Sad , the wall it was attached to had been knocked down but the demolition crewe knew nothing about it and thought it was scrap Shocked . Jeff, the MoT tester, heard about it, went down and made an offer of £100, brought it back and hung it up on the station`s wall Very Happy . There is only one left in existence in the UK still running, and in their day drew large crowds..

..not the best picture, but you can just make out these beasts thundering round the track at various venues. They were powered by speedway bike engines, such as the one here which I think is a JAP..

..their popularity started to fade later in the 50s with the advent of more glamorous sports and eventually died completely Sad . Being where it is, it`s a great talking point and creates a lot of interest. Jeff was recently offered £1000 for it, which of course he turned down Razz . Finally, vintage speedway memorabilia isnt the only hobby of Jeffs, this is his latest project..it`s not a Porsche, but a Covin with an MR2 conversion...

I always take an interest in whats going on there, and there are many talking points guaranteed to be hanging around...

That is the website for Paragon, and I`m sure he will be happy to expand further on any questions people may have....ttfn.. Very Happy
