Over the bank holiday weekend I went down to the deep South West to the 2010 National Rally
Firstly I met the London Group at Reading, and convoyed down to Frampton-on-Severn with them.
The dub crowd were here as well.
Then on to the rally
This A35 broke down at the entrance to the rally after having got all the way from Chichester with no problems! The fuel pump had failed.
What a great weekend _________________ Richard Hughes |

Sadly not. I'm pretty sure it is more or less a static exibit
You should get your countryman to the next one Rick (Dundee)
Edit: Here is the prototype convertible mentioned.

They say that some cars look very differentm according to the colour that they are painted. The blue one RWV 217 in photograph 21 looks as if it has shrunk in the wash. It certainly seems much smaller than the cars around it.
It wasn't one of those japanese copies was it?
Nice to see so many of the A30/35s on parade. _________________ Keep Torqueing,

Hi Richard,
What's the story of the palm green A35 on the trailer? Looks really sound -was it for sale?
I've got a 2-door deluxe in palm green; needs a lot of work though!

Hi Andrew, it was auctioned as the star lot in the Spares Auction on the Sunday. It had 32,000 miles on the clock and was very sound. The original owner had started stripping it down to restore it in 1970 but had given up. It was complete and attracted a lot of interest at the auction, and eventually sold for £1550!!!
Although it was solid, it still needed a full restoration - something my new black deluxe doesn't, and it was a lot cheaper!!!
It sold to someone from South Wales I believe, so you might even see it around when it is finished
Another few pictures:
