Old fire engines are everywhere, so many in fact many owners are lucky if they can get scrap value for them.
Remember the goverment's sell-off of the Green Goddesses - shows were swamped with them for a while, now you find far too many of them languishing in fields or barns, with their owners trying to sell them for less than they bought them for.
I'm dealing with a gent through the museum who has inherited 2 Chubb Spearhead fire appliances he wants sold. I passed his enquiry on to the Fire Heritage Network UK, which I'm a member of, knowing we are the link for many preservation groups up and down the country - not a peep! So these 2 appliances will end up probably sold for scrap, that is if the scrap man can get into the wood where they've been sitting for a number of years. |

Hi Rick,
Do you know, I don't know!
Baiscally I'm the go-between for the network on this and was going to pass any interest directly onto the vendor to supply any additional information.
