Over the weekend we went to Tatton Park for the Stars n Stripes (American car) show, and while there had a look at the Wall Of Death riders, mostly using the 20s Indian motorcycles (which seems to be the usual mode of transport for WoD riding). Is there any reason why Indian Scouts and the like are/were often chosen for this? is it something to do with oil or fuel systems working ok at unusual angles, or some other reason?

Easy one this. Its simply the fact that for this kind of use, the are far more trustworthy (reliable, etc.) than other bikes! Now and again they show a documentary on Discovery that covers just this point. |
