Hi there,

My name is Neil, I have a life long interest in old cars, I currently own a 1972 Wolseley 6 (my current project), a 1957 Rover P4 60 (a long term project) and a 1975 Land rover 109 safari station wagon, fully restored by me and in regular use.

I have a question, I was talking to my wife's grandfather recently about the car he passed his driving test in, it was a c1930 Morris Cowley registration VJ 2773 registered in Hereford.

Can anyone help or advise on how I can find out the whereabouts of this car?

Cheers,
Neil.

Hi Neil,
Welcome to the forum. There is a link to where you can possibly find if the car still exist but it will only tell you if that car and number are still together. If the car is still around but has lost it's number it won't help you. I'll post the link when I can remember where on this site I saw it......I am sure someone else will know.

Hi Neil,
Just found the link and put in the number and make and it came back as no records found. This either means that the car and the number are no longer around or that they have been separated.
You can check for yourself by going to the car tax renewal page and selecting Vehicle Inquiry.
Allen

Hi Neil,

Welcome to the forum. I think Allen is using the DVLA's website which requires you to enter the make as well as the reg. number.
http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/

The RAC also have a site http://www.rac.co.uk/vehicle-checks/car-data-check/

and it only requires the reg. number but trying it, it would appears that your number is not being used on any vehicle.

The best approach might be an enquiry to the Bullnose Morris Club.
http://www.bullnose.org.uk/

I believe they do cover flat noses as well as bull noses.

Peter

Have you tried the Morris Register? Link below, but they used to have their own historian (who sadly died quite recently), but am sure they have access to his records etc.
