Every time I try to touch up or repair damage to the paint on my taxi (a blue not black fairway) it looks fine for a bit but within a couple of days wrinkles and cracks.
The paint isn't cellulose (thinners desolves it instantly) but even acrylic causes this effect.I could use Barcoat but presumably that means spraying a whole panel as it will still lift where the paint overlaps.
Has anyone any ideas?.

No idea but Barcoat is excellent and I have never had problems with it on edges or anywhere else

I tried the barcoat and it worked well, thanks for the advice.
A paint sprayer told me to try dusting very light coats of the acrylic to start with. I've never really used this stuff before,I'm more used to cellulose.

I always thought that Barcoat was only available for use with professional spraying kit. I was, coincidentally discussing this with a mate recently and he sent me this link: http://www.auto-paint.co.uk/carpaint/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=228
Looks useful but have not tried them yet. Has anyone got experience of Barcoat in an aerosol??

Paul

Barcoat is a thin fast drying laquer - not sure what the solvent is though but its quite safe to use - it may have water/alcohol in it

I like the idea of Barcoat in an aerosol, for the simple reason that I find cleaning Barcoat from my spray gun a real pain.

Hi Guys

First reply on here as only just joined, barcoat is alcohol based & you should be able to buy the thinner for it from the same paint supplier that you bought it from (bit exspensive to real vodka Shocked ), other wise as said very difficlut to get you gins clean after.

cheers

John
