I can recall my brother-in-law knowing someone who privately owed a Vampire and how it cost £450 to fill its tanks for 30 minutes of flight but the Harrier is orders of magnitude more costly. £150/minute just for fuel!

As kids my brother and I used to play in a semi-derelict Vampire T11 stored outside on a farm. I often wonder what happened to it Smile

Back in the 70s, when I lived just outside Ashford Kent. A guy two doors frm me had a Tiger Moth (with wings removed,) in the garage of his three bedroomed semi.
It was a type I had never seen before with an enclosed cabin. Wonder what happened to that?

There may be others pigtin, but the enclosed cockpit Moths that i know of are Thruxton Jackaroo's. They had seating for three i think, and were used as early air taxi's.Conversions were done at Thruxton. There is one based at Baxterley i think, Nr Coventry. G-AOIR Google this and you should get a picture up.

That's the one and I remember now being told it was a Jackaroo.
