looking for some guidance on correct materials for making a loom for a car from the late 20's.
the car had no wiring when bought but i guess it would have had braided wire and some type of loom covering with cloth .
any one know??

It would have had cloth covering.

You can buy modern PVC insulated cable with a cloth covering in all the UK colour and tracer combinations, or entire looms made up with modern wire in the correct cloth covering, from various electrical suppliers.

It would have been rubber covered for insulation and then had a braided outer. Best to go for a later pvc covered replacement.

It might be possible to obtain a new loom from one of the specialist suppliers ready assembled.

I obtained and fitted one to a 1939 BSA Scout a few years back. It all depends how obscure your car is? You did not mention the maker.

Regards Kels.
