hi folks
is there a different flasher unit for towing, ive fitted a towbar on my oxford and the indicators are quite slow with the trailer on and ok without,
or is the old unit just getting tired, info would be very welcome.

Yes.
I don't know whether it is to do with higher or lower amps flowing (I think it is higher because ther are extra bulbs) that slows the ordinary one down, just as a failed bulb speeds them up.

Don't forget you also need a visual or audible warning specifically for the trailer indicator and I believe that the special flasher is able to register the loss of a bulb when towing

Hi, the last couple of cars I have put a tow bar on, have fitted a bypass relay unit, these use the rear lamps as a signal so don't load the existing car wiring . They have the flasher buzzer built in, only cost about £15.
