For my '57 Plymouth, my wife wants me to put seat belts in it before she'll get in, or let the kids get in. Fair enough I guess.

I have a couple of choices - I can buy a kit from the USA and get the upper mounts welded in by a professional (the rest is bolt-in) or get Quick-Fit in Stanmore to fit them.

Either way, does anyone know the legal requirements? I seem to remember that seat belt mounts must be "as fitted by the manufacturer" but what's the case with retrofitting to vehicles that never had them, even as an option?

Thanks! I called Quick fit this afternoon, it's quite expensive to get them to fit them. I'll see if they can supply the belts, fit the B-pillar mounts and I'll do the rest. Since there's no interior in yet it may not be so expensive though.

I used Quick-fit in my Aston and they did a cracking job and for what i thought was very good value for money. Certainly not something I would want to do myself. Cost about £500 I seem to remember, not bad for 2 day's work and all the belts & buckles I thought? Smile

I wanted them in my Corvair, and will also put them in the Mini and Dauphine. This set came out of a Nissan. More details in month 18 and 29 of my Corvair build.
