The first Round Australia Redex Car trial was in 1953. and proved so popular that it was followed again in 1954.
It covered about 9,000 miles over some very rough terrain, most of those miles were unsealed road, and some of those roads were no more than tracks.

Peter, in the 1954 event, E. Perkins in his Rover achieved place 81 with a loss of 108 points, however in the 1953 event, he did much better coming in within the first 11 cars. with a loss of 46 points. The 1953 list says that the car is a 'Rover 75'. I don't know if the car he used in 1954 was the same one.
