Hi all, Im Carl i love old cars and found a great excuse to buy some. I run a wedding company and need cars, so hope i'm not been silly but went out and bought a RR silver cloud mk2 and a Bentley mk6 to add to a nice pair of Daimlers DS420s one was a royle pool car. The rolls needs Carpets, head lining and tyres that is obvious but it started 2nd turn after 12 years and after a few minutes sounded great, the Bentley needs leather, chrome, carpets, some wood, and ouch a real respray down to the metal. I'm hoping i get get some info to find some cheaper parts.

That sounds like a rather nice selection you have there. I know nothing of sourcing parts for cars like these, but imagine someone will on here. Would love to see some piccies though if you have any to post up on here?

It may be worth contacting a few classic car clubs in your area, I don't live there so can't really help, but local old-car fans may be able to recommend companies close to you. Good chrome re-platers are not common I'm told, so again recommendations would be the way to go I think from locals.

RJ

PS I might move this into the Your Cars category if you don't mind

I Carl, I am also in the process of starting up a wedding car hire company.
But we wont be in competion as in different parts of the country.
Ive just had some chrome plating done a part of the results can be seen on the thread M5 to E-type.

The guys I used have a good reputation they have stuff in from as far Sweden..

If you want to PM me your number I'll give you a call one evening..

As for the leather I havent had any leather done but I did have some trimming done on my G and I know the guys does seats

All the best with your venture... Wink

I can thoroughly recommend Derby plating.
http://www.derbyplating.co.uk/

They are not cheap, but did a lovely job on some of my stuff. There were some minor dents in the headlights which magically dissappeared, they repaired a couple of other bits of minor damage too.

I have more bits to get done, & i'll save up until I can afford to have these guys do them rather than risk a diferent service being of lower quality.
