what an absolute shame it`ll all be gone by the weekend--just imagine ferreting around looking for a camshaft for a standard vanguard.i bet there`s one in there somewhere but to find it---could take you a month !
trouble is,there`s no one dedicated to take it all as priceless parts to keep the classics mobile. time and trouble has put an end to re-useable items and i`m afraid it`s going to be weighed in....such a shame...

Cheers--Ray the Rocker...

There used to be a chap in Chester; Trevor Madock, he ran an engine parts business from his home, you could go there and ask for just about any bearing, piston, ring sets, starter rings , valves, gaskets etc for pre war stuff, he would tap the request into his computer, go of in the back and come back with the bits.

I went there once and he had just had a delivery of one ton in weight of NOS valve's, and was going through the process of measuring them, identifying them and putting them on his system, he was particually pleased because there was a load of 1920's RolLs Royce valves and he was " a bit low on them"!

I bought all my MGA engine internals from him, he used to call it "modern stuff" I think I paid £70 for a set of over size pistons and rings, bearing set and a starter ring.

Sad thing is that he retired about 5 years ago and all his stock went to F W Thorntons, where it is now very expensive and thats when they can find it!
