well I suppose this is a start to another restoration thread.........on saturday 2nd july I bought this.......
and I'll be starting to restore it next weekend after i've taken delivery of it.
so the plan is to do another photographic restoration as I did with the Alvis all those years ago (2 years ago to be exact)
more pics will be added when the car has arrived. _________________ "people with money buy a Rolls Royce, people with taste buy an Alvis". |

hi rick
the big humber will be a no go now....the bloke has had it valued as it is and has put it up for sale at the valued price (way out of my price range)
and besides, it wouldn't fit on our drive anyway _________________ "people with money buy a Rolls Royce, people with taste buy an Alvis". |

after doing some research on simca this morning on the internet, I'm thinking of going down the route of a simca rally car replica, similar to these.......
i think they look pretty cool and the only major difference to mine are the wheel arches. _________________ "people with money buy a Rolls Royce, people with taste buy an Alvis". |

And induction, ignition, exhaust, engine, suspension, brakes and roll cage.
I must say the orange one looks cute. _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1

nic, I just mean the major difference on the outside
I'll probably leave the interior and everything you listed as normal (due to cost) _________________ "people with money buy a Rolls Royce, people with taste buy an Alvis". |

Go for it as long as you paint it vermillion. Same as my Midget. _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1

vermillion would be a nice choice, if you do it as a rally car it will need a bright colour to stand out and some nice wheels with some dish, whats the pcd on these? |

I like that too, much more in period, but where will you find those stickers?
And what are those wheels? |

stickers are found.....not that I'll be needing them for sometime
theres a bloke who lives on the next street that does vehicle stickers/sign writing and I've showed him the above photo and he said 'not a problem' so just need to get the rest of the car sorted and painted then he can do his stuff.
delivery of the simca is expected tommorow, I can't wait to get started on it, I've had 'itchy fingers' since finishing the Alvis _________________ "people with money buy a Rolls Royce, people with taste buy an Alvis". |

forgot to mention....I've been informed that the simca has the same pcd as old fords so some old 4 spoke rs wheels may fit.......mmmmm I'll have to see when I get that far. _________________ "people with money buy a Rolls Royce, people with taste buy an Alvis". |

working the late shift (2-10) last night , I got a phone call telling me the simca will be delivered today just after dinner, I won't be home though as.....I'm doing a wedding this afternoon with the Alvis.
I'm glad the wife and father in law will be here to sort it _________________ "people with money buy a Rolls Royce, people with taste buy an Alvis". |
