Probably of most interest to Rick (as a fellow Cheshireman) - last year I was dragged to a Garden Centre in Lymn by the current Mrs Axel, which turned out to be a curious rambling place which was part Garden Centre, part outdoor Thai Restaurant, part Antiques/Craft centre, part architectural salvage yard. Weird doesn't begin to describe it.

Amongst the shall we say, eclectic, mix of whares in the sheds / poly-tunnels outside were various old 50's mopeds very like yours. I can't remeber the makes and models now but am sure that there was a least one Raleigh, and possibly an NSU Quickly. They were piled up in odd places so you could be forgiven for not seeing them, but I would say there were proabbly 6 to 8 machines there. If not restorable, they would certainly be good for spares.

Anyway, they have a website http://www.willowpool.co.uk/, and even if the peds don't work out, I can recomend the Nasi Goreng.

*bump*

I thought it was time for this thread to make a re-appearance, in case anyone's recently found an old moped or scooter Smile

Well, I have just found a 1953 32cc Cyclemaster unused since 1957.

The sad thing is that I found it where I left it in 1987, stored in the roof of a friends workshop.
