I have broken the mounting flange on my E83w steering box. How in this world do I get the steering box and column apart?

Is there any reference to it in the Ford 8/10 workshop manual?

I remember one of my spares having a broken mounting, it was cast alloy if I recall correctly?? One of the spares I used to have however had a cast iron mounting (perhaps off an early example?), so it might be worth looking out a suitable replacement.

Hi

I do have some of them somewhere, did I have your cast iron one? I collected a mass of steering boxes, still have them somewhere too, not seen for many a ayear now mind.

I thought of having some manufactured either cast or fabricated. I might go for the Fabricated route if I were you.

Rick do you remember where that good box I had broke, rather anoying as there was hardly any play in that one either!

NUX163, does yours have an adjusting nut for reducing play, I made some later ones have this too, it helped a bit, but not as much as I would have liked it to!

Cheers
