Can someone tell me the original colour for an e93a engine. It is currently Kermit the frog green and seems to be the only coat of paint on the engine, is this correct. Also can you use a standard enamal or does it have do be a hi temp engine paint.
Thanks

Standard enamel is OK but whether you use special engine paint or not its important to get rid of old ALL traces of oil which does tend to soak into the cast iron pores and seep out when warm pushing off the paint _________________ Rover P2

Hi Jason,
Yes green seems to be the original colour, I used the one in the link below:
http://www.smallfordspares.co.uk/search?query=Engine+paint
...as Phil says, if you are going to re-paint the engine, make sure that it is clean of grease/ oil etc. ..a good de-greasant or brake & clutch cleaner should do it. |
