Brake reservoir
I’ve got an old brake ‘tin can’ type fluid reservoir on my ‘33 Singer. Externally it is great with the original transfers still visible (ie. I don’t wish to replace it!), internally however there is rust and gunk.
Is there a tank seal I could use to make it usable? - I intend to use silicone brake fluid in the system.
What type of mc have you got - i've just fitted a universal type on a landrover mc. I wouldn't use silicon brake fluid - i'll get out a publication for you if you like. Main negative is if you want to revert to normal fluid it is a devil to get out of the system.

Thanks for the reply!
......I took a long hard look at the original tank and concluded that even after extensive internal cleaning it would still be dodgy (for brakes anyway!)
Found a site that did a nice new MK1 Landie fluid tank of similar style -£33
Would be interested in the info on the fluid still...... seems the way to go.

Have you bought the Land Rover item? If not yet, and you'd still like to keep yours looking original, stickers etc, could you source a reservoir ever so slightly smaller than yours and insert new one inside existing? Maybe make a cut-out in the base of original to permit access to connection on new one?
