Love it, cant understand what's the 100,000 bucks though, surely it just needs recomissioning, looks like everything is saveable, maybe even the paint with some tlc, probably the only rusted item on the car is the rear bumper, and it can be rechromed, that's no big thing!!

The media will always exaggerate things to make more audience!! Rolling Eyes

Rick,

This brings back memories of my first job when I emigrated to Canada in 1964. I got a job in the BMC dealership in Scarborough, Ontario which was owned by the then current sport car champion. I was there about two weeks when this Ferrari 250GTE was brought in with a slipping clutch. It was stunning in metallic blue with white leather and white sheepskin floor rugs and still had Roma plates fitted. I was given the job of replacing the clutch. It was a 'gearbox into the car' job so the front seats and carpets were removed, wrapped up and put in the store room. The underside was all streamlined with a alloy plate running from the front to the rear axle held on to the tube chassis with 10mm head screws every 6". The car then sat on stands for the next 2-3 weeks awaiting a clutch coming from somewhere in the States. But before the clutch arrived the place was closed down. One evening were working on a Lotius 19 with a Chevy 327 fitted that the boss was going to race in the upcoming Canadian championship when in walk a bunch of 'suits'. They were police looking into a stolen car ring that the boss was involved in upin Ottawa and they had come to search the premises to see if we were involved. Next day the boss is in jail and we are out of jobs. The Ferrari was still inside when the bailliffs arrived. End of dream job
