You guys are gonna love this; https://britainfromabove.org.uk/en/search?keywords=nellfield%20garage%2C%20braidwood&country=scotland&year=all
You may need to log in to be able to zoom into the pictures, I have done so after finding these and no issues, so you should be fine. The pictures are aerial shots of an old Garage near where I stay which was used as a massive scrap yard up until about the 1990s.
I remember 20s and 30s cars there as well as the more modern ones in the 80s but these pics are taken in 1953, so loads of cars, vans and commercials, litterally hours of fun for you guys who can identify them. I am probably still a wee bit too young, this being one of the few things nowodays I am "2too young for but I have been learning by reading this forum and seeing what you do, very impressive.
So in that light I would be interested to see what you can identify and if you have any ideas why this one guy had so many vehicles?
If you don't want to log in, do a search for "Nellfield Garage, Braidwood Scotland" that should get you the five or so pictures to see what I am talking about Cool

This was a favourite haunt of mine in the early 60s. By then they seemed to be mostly trucks. I don’t recall any cars. I had a 1948 Jaguar 2 1/2 litre and was always on the lookout for bits.

That’s the A73 on one side and the main Line to London on the other.

Yep. that's the place. There were a lot of 70s and 80s cars around when I remember it but if you could get a look up the hill nearer the railway there were 20s and 30s cars still there. They had some collectable things in the showroom area, a Jensen Interceptor, a couple of mark 10 jags and some old Austins. The Gray family lived in the bigger house next to the Garage, that was Alan Gray, the Son and his family and I think there were other relatives in the houses across the road, there was also a Security guy lived in a caravan across the road, in the middle of the scrapyard. There were not so many buildings then and not so many commercials, mainly just cars from what I can remember. They also had a small petrol station outside the main Garage building and the famiy used to operate that but they also employed a lot of local people about my age so I knew quite a few of them and the family, it was quite a landmark even then and I guess the aerial photographers thought so too.

Hi
The Google overhead still shows the extent of the yards, though the street view dated 2016 now has modern houses all round the petrol station and up to the railway.

Well done for finding that, so obvious I never thought to look Rolling Eyes Yes it's all gone now, just the petrol station left and that almost closed for good last year, big garage is away and replaced with houses and all the part across the road. I believe the Local Council were chasing them for years to "clean it up" and they finally got their way. I suppose being a car nut makes it seem a shame, would have liked a good rake around before it disappeared Cool
Incidentally I was speakin to one of the Grandsons who runs the petrol station now, the other day. He had no idea about the pictures, so he is going to have a look. The works across teh road he remembers from when he was younf as a "Bone Works", apparently had quite a distinctive smell, lovely Laughing

Spotted a small-ish blue saloon this afternoon which, thanks to another thread, I can now say was a Singer Gazelle. Or if badge-engineering was a thing then, it's something of that shape.

We followed a 1955-ish GMC Stepside onto the M74 Northbound at J5 this morning with a big blue painted V8 engine in the back (guessing Ford). Original unmollested appearance. Gave them a toot as we passed.

Not sure I’ll look if I am in there today. I know the owner has had it since the seventies. It has a lovely but tired pigskin interior that probably won’t repair on the drivers seat. You can get pigskin, but it’s very expensive.

The local Chalmers was also spotted a few days ago, parked up minding its own business.
