Hi
On the M40 this afternoon near Gaydon,, on cruise control at 60, (sat nav speed not speedo) I was overtaken by a very nice looking blue Ruby.
Unfortunately it was on a transporter whiich was also towing a trailer with a modern SUV on it.
I hope it got to it's destination safely

Hi
Saw a turquoise "yank tank" on the M60/M66 junct, Simister Island, Rbt this morning
It crossed in front of me as I was approaching down the off slip to the r/bt so I only had a side-on view
It was from the tail fin era but I can't find it in any of my books.
The fins were quite high, looked vertical not splayed outwards and had a definite convex curved leading edge starting around where the back of the rear window was.

Any suggestions?

Perhaps a Plymouth Plaza? Wink

Was that not the model that was the subject of the film "Christine"?

Oh, no apparently that was a Plymouth Fury.

Are you sure that was "Simister Island" and not Sinister Island?

Hi
Most of the pictures I have seen following this up have had the straight line to the top of the fins which this has, but that doesn't fit with the curves I remember.

"Sinister" is the rhyming alternative name I have often used for it.

A Routemaster bus has just rumbled by in the rain, its headlamps glowing merrily.

Saw a nice red Jaguar E Type on my way home today, parked up for a rest in a layby on the A303.

Seen in Whitchurch (possibly en route to this evening's meet), a convertible Herald 13/60, a split-window VW, and a rare Farina-bodied MG Magnette.

Very dusty Saab 99 just spotted on a recovery truck, while yesterday's most interesting "spot" was a Mk1 Mazda RX7 with Elford turbo conversion. Also of interest was an immaculate early/mid 1950s Buick (I think) spotted in a grassy driveway. Other sightings included a Mk2 A40 on the motorway, and a Minor pickup (non-original) on another recovery vehicle.

This afternoon a superb and presumably newly restored white Mini Moke passed me going in the opposite direction. If was "F" registered and driven open top style without a hood.

I haven't seen a Mini Moke "in the metal" for years.

White Corvette from the 1970s went by earlier, plus an E-Type Roadster.

I have a feeling I may have seen that one somewhere around (old) Monmouthshire in the last week or two now you've mentioned it.
