Hi Guys, just an update, car now has a Roadworthy Certificate and is ready to be registered in my name. Lots of fun with the speedo, had the instrument overhauled as it was inoperative when I got the car. Put speedo back into car, sans skin and broken fingernails and then found inner cable was at fault. Had new cable made and found that the gearbox end had a different size of square than the speedo (AC) end. So cable was custom made. Plugged it in and lo, speedo now works.
Made a rash decision and got Personalised PLates for it, RAP132, which is meant to look like RAPIER (they wanted A$2390 for RAPIER).
Next move is to re-polarize the electrical system to Negative earth. My BIL (who has a Jag Mk2) has already done it so not too big a drama.
Silver and black Rapier looks good in my garage alongside my silver Peugeot 307 Hdi Touring sedan.
Photos to follow soon.

Sorry Rick, I am a newbie and didn't realise.
Am now looking for a Fuel Gauge Tank Unit, AC part #7228167 for my car.
If anyone knows where I can get one, please let me know.
