This is a project I can't wait to start, my barn find E88W. This is how I found it in March 2012 covered in 40 years worth of junk!

It was love at first sight but I couldn't get near it!

I was a bit worried to see the front end was missing but I eventually found most of it in three different buildings over three weeks!

The clear up begins, this is all part of the adventure, the truck had become a giant storage bench

The deck is clear and ready to move for the first time since the 70's. unbelievably the tyres took air despite huge cuts and massive amounts of canvas showing through

Out in the open and looking good

Home at last, in good company with my other Ford commercials and cars. The sump had been removed but I found it in another building along with the nose panel.

To be continued...

What a cracker Cool one of my favourite Fords, I also like that old garage sign leaning close to it in the first photo.

Really interesting. The little I can see of the engine seems to suggest a unit like the Model B cars. Is that so?

Woodwork is apparently in good order for the length of time it has been out of service.

Hi Dane, thanks, yes it is the 4 Cylinder "B" engine which I've had running in a fashion. The woodwork is pretty good but someone has started a fire on the rear at sometime!

Cheers Rick,
I know you have a soft spot for these so here's one for you, this little E83W was in the shed next door, I couldn't believe my luck. A very late (Oct 1957) registered builders pick up or "Truckette" as it is described in the buff log book. It is one owner from new and he (The owner)is still bright as a button. I'm on a mission to get this one finished first so he can have a drive in it!

Hi Dave, it is indeed. He even kept a little book with all of the journeys and jobs he had done along with the mileage He built houses and even schools with this little pick up. It's a great project.

Thanks wilson294 I will. I think the E83w deserves a thread of its own, what do you think?
