I don't have a Mustang, but I have several friends who do. Generally they are good reliable cars, most of the problems seem to come from badly done mods. All parts are readily available and the prices are usually less than you would pay for parts for a big British or European car

Is it a 6 or an 8 cylinder? The sixes are prone to valve seal problems causing plug fouling. Ford's fix was to fit extended tip sparkplugs!! The only other problem that I can recall is the upper trunnions on the front suspension can creak. Originally they had a plug instead of a grease nipple. We used to cut a hole in the tower and fit grease nipples.

I hope your wife enjoys the car.

She looks a beauty. You must feel like an old American film star driving that! Good luck with the Ford service and mot in the future Laughing
