Thought I would introduce my latest project.... I wanted something
that would fit in my garage this time Smile I know it's still young to be called
a classic, but this was the very last model of an air cooled car / truck / van to be manufactured in Japan, under 360cc two cylinder !!

This Honda has been owned and operated most of it's life by a Honda
main dealer in Croydon, B Newton.

As with most japanese vehicles of this age, it has suffered quite badly
with corrosion.....

I discovered this repair underneath a wodge of filler.... it will have to be
cut out and redone as they just welded over the top of the rusted parts..

and from there I thought the ns door also looked heavy with filler.....
pictures of that to follow....

Not seen one for donkeys of years, the local milkman bombs around in a modern-day equivalent (not sure of the make).

Nice. I've never actually seen a stacked headlight one on the road. A friend of mine was using an X-registered example as his work van until recently (he's a fisherman).

I have, somewhere, a Honda workshop manual for one of these, I think it's for the later TN Acty rather than this model, but if you need it, I'll have a look for it.

My wife always wanted one of those. She reckoned it would fit down the aisles in Tesco!

Hi
I know this one is a Daihatsu, but they are ideal in these wide open Greek towns. Laughing

Had another crack at the welding today, but have ended up cutting away so much of this corner,
I am struggling to know where to start reconstructing it from....
it's a bit daunting when there's so little to work with but I have made a start.....

Is that part of a chassis/body number visible here?

Hi Bob2,

The only thing British about this pickup is the crazy fool trying to
repair it Wink

There is a Maltese chap who lives about 2 miles from me who often
imports old cars from Malta.... perhaps you should get to know him:
he could send you an old British pickup truck Idea

Oh well we still have some here, mainly morris minors and austin cambrdiges but the rear beds are not pretty to look at as they were fabricated locally!!

Problem I have is no space for anything else or I would buy one immediately before they're gone forever!!

Hi Rick,

Yes there was a number there but it was not the chassis number, perhaps
a part number...... Where the previous repair was done they had already
welded accross this number Confused

Before:

After:

(made up the floor first which tucks under...)

(Then the bulkhead drops onto floor...)

Obviously if I was more skilled I would have cut out the entire
bulkhead and made a new one flutes n all ! Embarassed
