I bought this about a year ago, but never got around to introducing it, sorry about that! Anyway, I thought you might like to see some pictures of the MKII as it stands now, post respray. I've been working on it for the last few months and it's looking pretty good now, although I've still got to refit the interior, tune up the engine and adjust the brakes. The paintwork, particularly the roof and drivers door, could do with another mop as well. Note the relatively straight bumper. The car was in an accident before I got it and the bumper irons on the drivers side were badly bent, forcing the bumper back an inch or so. I straightened them out with the aid of a blowtorch and a 4lb hammer, before painting and refitting. Also note the nice shiny numberplates, stripped to their component parts, resprayed and polished, also the grille badge, which was missing when I got the car. They are the same as MK1 Austin Minis so go for silly money on Ebay. I managed to get one at Battlesbridge for £1. I made up a backing plate with threaded rods which I araldited to the back of the badge, hey presto! The wheels I rubbed down and painted with a massive tin of Dulux I got for a bargain £12 because it was slightly damaged, the colour is very close to Old English White. Yes I KNOW they should be Farina Grey but OEW suits the Ocean Blue paint more I reckon. The hubcaps are NOS ones bought from Gresham Flyer on here (thanks again Mark!), again a massive improvement on the two tatty ones and the two Morris Minor ones it had before.













Oh yes, must remember to refit that rear quarter bumper I removed for the welding I did over the summer.

I must say, I'm jolly chuffed with the way it's looking now.

Hi Richard

I've just acquired a Mk2 A55. She's with the painter at the moment. She's two tone grey and blue and needs a little work. If she looks half as good as yours I'll be pleased.

She's fitted with MGB Rostyles at the moment and they just don;t look right so I'll be changing them when I can.

The engine has a bit of a rumble and I already have an MGB engine and overdrive box so they"ll probably find themselves being dropped in.

I'll post photos when I can.
