|
|
Hi
Thought i would join in the fun, been sent here by JD who is also a member of the Pre67 Ford Club.
Anyway, brief intro, my name is Craig and i own and play around with Ford Anglia's of the 105E variety.
Here are a few pics of my 123E Estate, not standard. Has mainly period modifications and the modern ones i have tried to hide.
Powered by a 711M crossflow blocked pre xflow with some Aquaplane tuning goodies, head, inlet and exhaust manifolds, rocker cover, twin SU's. A2 cam, duplex etc etc.
Hidden bits inc servo behind the headlight, dynator (alternator inside a dynamo casing), Lotus Elan gearbox, quickshift on the standard gearstick, 123tune (managed ign inside the distributor) and lots of other bits and bobs
Cheers

Hi Craig and welcome to the forum. That is a lovely Anglia Estate. I must have seen it at Bridge of Allan as we go there every year. I will look out for you in July if I dont see you before then as we attend all the shows.....Larry. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

Thanks for the warm welcome
Will be at the Pre67 Ford show again this year along with the others that the club attend. If all goes to plan i might even make it in my Thames Van.... It's the oldest surviving one, currently on the rollover jig having some work done.
Anyhow, another pic of the estate, my fav pic of it

They are indeed 5 1/2" Lotus steelies.
I have a set of much rarer 6" jobs for my van, it's amazing how much difference 1/2" makes they look way better .... there is a joke in there somewhere _________________

Hi Craig, that's a very smart looking Anglia, don't see too many of those now.
All the best

Thanks Greg, there is only about 100 left out of the 100,000 estates that were produced

It looks like a Lincon battery from here (same place the Dodge's 2x 6v batteries came from).

It is indeed a Lincoln battery. Unfortunately that size is no longer available to to the supply of the boxes drying up.
I left it on trickle charge with the caps off for a while.... nearly 3 years and when i went to use it i found it was a dry as a stick
Put fresh acid in it and charged it up but it was goosed.
Spoke to the chap at Lincoln and he offered to rebuild it using a new lid and my old box. I also had it uprated by a couple of plates at the same time to help starting etc.
I would highly recommended Lincoln, batteries look the part and work well.
Worth giving him a call or looking on the website.

Kind Regards

Hi
I always felt that either the Abbott or Friary conversions should have become the factory design (less boxy looking). Do you know if there are any of them left? _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.
