Hi Richard
Any more news on the 17HP yet?
Are the TR7 seats in the previous pictures going to be a permanent feature? Very Happy

I found this photo in an old family album, my GGrandfathers car taken in 1951 though the car appears to be from 1937.
I think it is an Armstrong Siddeley 16, anyone confirm?

Somehow I missed the photos of the dismantling job when you posted them, as for the woodwork - wow - quite some job ahead, how are things progressing since the last update?

Yep, it is a 16hp. They were produced between 1938 & 1940, a very short time because of a certain Austrian gentleman!

It is indeed a 16HP Coach Saloon - they are beautiful cars with so many improvements over previous models. I have a restored 1939 "16" in my collection and it is a joy to drive - smooth, powerful, comfortable and silent. Armstrong Siddeley is still one of the most overlooked classics, but its day will surely come!

Thanks for the replies confirming the model. She still looked good in 1951! It was my GGdads retirement car, it looks like it was well kept and probably only had light use.

just a general update following a heart attack and subsequent bypass surgery I have sold my Armstrongs and purchased one that was at the top of my wish list a 1948 Hurricane that needs nothing doing apart from a good service and tuning but unfortunately im unable to drive it for at least another 2 months due to my body needing to heal itself

Lovely car, good to hear that you're on the mend. It reminds me of this one on the main site: http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/armstrongsiddeley.htm
