Hello rjt1o/4

I've been following your project for somt time -> it's coming along very nicely - at this rate your car should be ready for next Easter. I love the pictures and the quality of the workmanship

I have a 1936 Merlin 9 saloon which was restored in the late '90's and is still running well. It's a Briggs steel-bodied version - so no wood-frame. Having said that the quality of the welding and the door-fitting is not as good as on your car. If you need a copy of the handbook - let me know I've scanned mine and you can have a copy

Keep them pictures coming - this car will be a CRACKER when she's finished

Very Happy Simon

Great work and great pics. Keep 'em coming. Good to see another Riley being preserved.

At last some more progress has been made the body has now been finished (repairs) and looks fantastic in her new coat of paint Royal Blue over old English white still a long way to go though with wings running boards and boot lid all needing repairs I am also going to risk spoiling the restoration by attempting the upholstery by myself something i have never tried before so wish me luck i hope you like the pics

Looking superb you must be chuffed with that, and as mentioned before probably, great to see a saloon being properly restored.

thanks for the comment Rick yes we are very pleased that progress is being made again and yes its nice to see a saloon being brought back to life even though its costing far more than the finished car is worth but hey its a keeper and will be used alot

hi Rick I saw that and seriously thought about it but having just purchased a new car and new caravan I cant justify another restoration project and if I do go for another classic it will be an open top from the 20s or 30s

So sorry to hear that. I can empathise and know how hard it can be to restore a car; not least in getting the opportunities when family commitments press on your time.
You have done such a fabulous job it would be great to see you reap the benefit.
