How did the Austin truck get and A prefix? I do not think it was built or first registered that year.

Perhaps it was an ex military, or part of it, and first registered in the 1963 period when the suffix format was introduced.

Would that be a K4 with eight stud wheels ?

Yes it is a K4. The "A" suffix is probably because its original number has been sold, or not registered in time to go on the computer and has been lost. That number is DVLA's idea of an "age related number." We had an 1929 Austin Seven in the village with an "A" suffix.

Ref the bus, back in June a group of us caravanners attended a member's funeral, and we all pitched out 'vans behind a pub, whose name escapes me, but it's near Hopton, Staffs.
This bus turned up in the car park, and one of our lads asked him if he'd transport us to the funeral, but he said it wasn't licenced for hire, it was just his personal tranport.
It's better in the metal than that pic.

How about a nice old 'Quad'? 1918

For those thta aren't familiar, these things had 4 wheel drive & 4 wheel steering! This one has hydraulic lift bed, all else (steering etc) is mechanical. The Operators Manual advises that for the first few hundred yards of driving it 'have your senses on high alert!'

No, it belongs to a customer and I had it briefly this summer to get it running for a Antique Steam & Tractor Show. It runs like a brand new Lexus, well a 15mph Lexus. I really do need another Stromberg M2 carb for it, other than that it's tiptop.
