Hi
I have an Austin box and as we all know it dose not have door locks
So I have been thinking if I could fit a central locking system in the rear panel so that it would shoot a bolt though the doorframe into the door thus locking the door closed. Sounds good but the car is 6 volt and I cannot find any 6 volt slave actuator solenoid, I don’t want to change the voltage to 12 volts.
Any ideas??

just an idea convert 6v to 12v but only for the door lock's to do this try Electro Schematics diagram shown then you can use a scrapyard 12v lock.

Build a cheap dc voltage doubler and use 12v solenoids.

I think I'd also want a switch accessible from inside the car, not just the rear panel, in case it had a mind of its own one day while I was inside!

Can you not get suitable handles with locks incorporated in them?

Hi thank's for the help I can make a control box my self and that will eliminate the drew from a remote control standby as for a fail safe I though i could use a spring so if it failed locked I would turn the power off and the spring would push it back I think?
As for the voltage problem I am going the purchase a double converter that way they will Guarantee it not to fail if I give them all the details.
